Dear Zanmi,

I am Deneka Desroches, Founder and Board President of the Ayiti Cheri Foundation (ACF). ACF was inspired by my father, a Haitian immigrant who struggled in America due to his lack of education. Born into poverty, a speech impediment and economic hardship prevented him from ever attending school in Haiti. As the eldest child, it became my responsibility to translate and support him as he worked hard to learn English and create a better future for our family in the United States.

Founded in 2019, ACF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing access to education and cultural activities for children and adults in New Orleans and St. Marc, Haiti. Through literacy programs, school supplies, and uniforms, ACF aims to close the education gap for low-income families, empowering children to succeed despite the systemic poverty they face.

My mission is to raise funds to eradicate poverty in Haiti by making education accessible to every child, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to create a brighter future.
